Thank you Erik! I really liked this "one upper" for describing him, but your last line on calling it "narcissism" (since that he is) might also be "old age" and "dementia" {as I take care of one who's 95 and clearly that's "old" yet he too with his chronic diseases and vascular dementia robbing his great mind of current knowledge (he has great recall of stories of the past & goes on & on with his stories). That definitely is not my "one upper"} It's kinda sad to watch & worse if you're his captive audience & have to listen. I'm not quite that old (lol) but as I age and others around me, I do notice this. Perhaps it's also their generation. Just a thought!

Ohhh and I came here, while I can to thank you for ❤a Note of mine (that nobody notices-lol) Anyways, many do not look at the Notes of people, but you took (or take the time). I find many gems in reading people's Notes. Yet I came to let you know I appreciate that you did & just to catch up, before my day gets started here. I don't have that leisure & try to catch up in between.

I have known a few in my life and they were exhausting to be around. Luckily I could end the relationships. With Trump, no one has yet been able to free us from his clear and present danger. I fear for all of us.

Keep pushing. Stay in the fight. We will win in the end.

I sure hope so. Thanks for the encouragement.

Hope it helps

Donnie is the problem. He’s only concerned with acquiring as much cash as possible during his “reign.” He’s doubled his net worth since January 20, 2025. Think about how much corruption one has to do to become a billionaire while you are president and ( theoretically) looking out for Americans. He’s threatening individuals and companies. He’s extorting the major companies by taking money for everything they export. So tariffs going in and companies extorted for millions by Trump when they export. He’s extorting everyone who wants to do business. And don’t get me started on tariffs, which were a major cause of the great depression.

It’s also exhausting how similar this regime is to my ex—it took years for me to realize my marriage was a contest I had not agreed to, and I must always be the loser.

Liberaldad's avatar

Ugh. That must have been hard.

julie elder's avatar

Yes—especially since I was such a slow learner! Lol I stayed far too long.

Liberaldad's avatar

Well you clearly learned that you are better than him

FINALLY!

So well said. You have described this president perfectly. Thankyou for the simplicity of your explanation.

Pride, Satan's favorite sin.

Didn't Putin call Trump a peacock, early on?

Liberaldad's avatar

Probably, thanks for the restack

Nail on the head. Spot on. Bullseye. Trump will never stop until he is put away and force silenced.

Really like you're article son butt don't forget I'm the one who born & taught you everything 😇

I accept all the good AND all the bad 😆

Beautifully written and 100% accurate description of that empty vessel that holds nothing of any value

Great article!

You would think it’s exhausting to be that way, it definitely is for us to listen.

He lies so much that if he ever said, “never mind I just lied” it couldn’t be trusted.

He projects so much too, as if a true give away that he himself is the guilty one.

OMG! Don Jr. another duplicate “one upper”!

Nola Krosch's avatar

Funnily enough, he doesn’t actually lie about his policy intentions though. He told his supporters they’d “never have to vote again” if they elected him this time. That was as clear a message of his intent as anyone could give. And he didn’t lie when he said he was going to use the Alien and Sedition Act to deport massive numbers of immigrants—although he did lie when he said he intended to go after the “criminals”. Or at least, he defined “criminal” in a way that included civil offenses like overstaying one’s visa. The problem is that DJT spews so many lies that we stop listening carefully, to discern the truth in what he is saying. But it’s always there. It’s like he just can’t help himself.

Bill Prange's avatar

I think he just says what will sound good at the moment and doesn’t care whether it’s true or not. That is actually one way that “bullshit” is defined.

Perfectly said! A thoughtful, all encompassing article… And I thank you!

this article is so relatable, especially if your a humble person, sure we want or sometimes need better things but don’t rub it in my face!!! Those one uppers are annoying asf!!! I have a very expressive face, so if you see👀me roll my eyes or stare at you when you can’t stop one upping your self, you definitely will feel my one upper right back!!! 😆⚡️(tired of the egos!)

Liberaldad's avatar

It has always been a pet peeve of mine and hearing that bloviating idiot lie his face off everyday drives me nuts.

Ariana's avatar

Ok and you just one upped me with the word bloviating, hahaha, had to google it, got it 🧐I was thinking bloated head, close enough

CJinAK's avatar

In this era, a MUST-KNOW word! Brainwashed growing up by my wonderful mom, "There's a positive in every negative, always look for it." Vocabulary expansion is one! "Bloviating" is one of them! Finding the perfect descriptor word can be soooooooooooo very satisfying! Enjoy! ☺️‼️

Liberaldad's avatar

Absolutely

Liberaldad's avatar

Lol whoops sorry.

Ariana's avatar

I was being sarcastic 😝I need to go back to sleep lol

Liberaldad's avatar

I know 😆 You made me laugh.

Ariana's avatar

And it’s so sickening that others follow suit…. Hoping more people wake up as they see how he just shot himself in the foot with his own pistol

Ariana's avatar

I hear you!!!!

Wendy Parker's avatar

It's an immediate tell. That, and the inability to use 'your' and 'you're' properly.

Liberaldad's avatar

Now I have to proofread my article haha

CJinAK's avatar

Yes, sometimes, most times, it's Spellcheck! And noticed just as we hit SEND, and then helplessly watch it fly out into the techno ethers. Spellcheck is out to get humanity!

Liberaldad's avatar

Yes it can certainly be dangerous in the wrong hands. 😆

Wendy Parker's avatar

I am HORRIFIED when that happens and can't change it fast enough. I just can't with the comments like, 'Your an idiot.' It gets me in the craw every time!

Liberaldad's avatar

Well we all do it. I am sure I have multiple times

Just Another Jim's avatar

This is his Orangeness in short form, no one can ever be better, bigger or braver than him, else the whole facade crumbles. I am constantly reminded of the scene in Tombstone where Wyatt asks what drives a man like Johnny Ringo…pretty sure that is the same thing that drives 47 and his ilk. He wants to be a real boy

Liberaldad's avatar

Yep, he really is like a cartoon of human psychology

Just Another Jim's avatar

Well put 😎
