Good post. I was there and wrote about how people can engage now that it’s over, in case you’d like to read.

The thing people are confused is that being American is the problem? This country has a complete criminal history.

Erik, LOVED your article! Tried to send $ via Google PAY, but not offered. I have fraudster's stalking my number when I attempt online charges, so I would like to send you, (in care of your coffee shop if they will support with US mailing address).

I was in Detroit & it wasn’t as large as I expected… HOWEVER… Michigan had over 100 different areas we protested in! Which if you added them together we would have looked like Boston, New York or Chicago… I could have went to ones that were closer to my house… which I didn’t know about until the next day… nonetheless we had a huge turnout throughout my state! It was an amazing day… it was supposed to rain but didn’t start until I got home later that night. So it worked out perfectly 💞🐸

That's terrific

And in the tiny town of Kingston Washington on the north end of the Kitsap Peninsula, several hundred folks lined the street to and from the Wahington State Ferry punching far above our weight in the visibility created as every vehicle getting on or off the ferry had to run the gaunlet of signs and costumes. (and a shout-out to Santa Rosa)

That is so cool. Good work!

Did the President of the United States, an office so long associated with dignity (except Nixon), really make that gross, demeanining AI of himself crowned, flying a fighter jet and dropping a trail of shit on his opponents? I doubt he has the nous to make it but did he view it, authorise it and send it out? If he did, the shame on him is profound, if he didn't and his lackeys did, shame on him because he enables the worst of people, if he didn't, they did and he didn't authorise it, shame on him because he has no grip on his minions. Shame on him and his poltroons as they drag their office further into the gutter. The world despises him, laughs at him and exploits him. God save America.

He makes a mockery of everything he touches. I still think about a week ago when he forgot his granddaughter and took off in his golf cart causing her to walk to the next green. What a rude grandfather! I don’t know if he has contempt for all women or just forgot. But, either way this young woman just passed it off very nonchalantly. She just gave him the benefit of the doubt. And, at her young age showed so much caring and respect than I think he has ever done! That is one mark he certainly has left on this country—disrespect for others.

You said this so much better than I could. Either way, he is just so infantile.

Looking in from England it was fantastic. My cousins in Minneapolis were out, my friends in Canada were out. Keep up the pressure. All tyrants eventually fall.

Thank you my friend. It was a wonderful day despite the AI video. Let him insult the public, it will only hasten his removal from power.

Janice Defilipi's avatar

Shitler’s little video was so infantile and gross.

Small town Texas…nearly doubled participation since June.

I watched from home with my dumb broken leg stacked up on pillows and cried at the beauty of it. I wanted to be there so bad...but I am so proud of my brothers and sisters who understood the assignment. Now let's effing GOOOOOOOO!!!!!

Janice Defilipi's avatar

Hope your leg heals well and soon. We will need you in the future.

Liberaldad's avatar

We knew you would have been there. I don't think a brick wall would have stopped you lol. Broken leg, that's a tough one.

I live in a suburban neighborhood of Cincinnati. Downtown along the Ohio river was the big turnout but neighborhoods like Mason in Loveland in towns in nearby counties also had their smaller, enthusiastic lineups on the road, waving flags, carrying signs like release the Epstein files and my favorite, fuck ice. We also had Portland, Oregon imitators, people wearing costumes, like frogs, or unicorns. The big cities may end up on national news, but this time there were hundreds of smaller towns represented in No Kings Day.

Liberaldad's avatar

For sure. It takes everybody! I think there were upwards of 2700 separate protests, big, small and everything in between. Thank you for being on the right side of history ❤️

My hometown held theirs at America The Beautiful Park. Also fitting. I couldn't go because I was really sick, but I spent the day doing resistbot, reposting protest pictures and lifting people up. Even if you can't protest in person, every bit of resistance matters. 💙

Hope you recover soon. I am a 75 year old grandma who was there in our town’s protest. It was the same location I protested about the Vietnam War back in the day.

Liberaldad's avatar

Absolutely, we all need to do our part! Thank you ❤️

It was a beautiful and blessed day for America, democracy and for “we the people.” I was blown away by the global participation as well - supporting the message, supporting us! Damn straight, the roar of the people is not over and will not be silent.

Brattleboro, VT...very small town relatively speaking...we had over 3,000 resisters! 😊💪 🇺🇸. Many other towns in VT also participated.

Thousands of peaceful people showed up at the statehouse and across the capital city of Columbus, Ohio. We are one of the most gerrymandered red states in the country and we're pretty tired of it. Bravo to everyone across America who expressed their first amendment rights yesterday.
