Mike Johnson’s Transparency….Bad Faith

The House Speaker’s recent grandstanding about "openness" isn’t just dishonest…..it’s a grotesque parody of accountability….

House Speaker Mike Johnson’s claim that “every district has people on Medicaid who shouldn’t be” relies on “ideological narratives and cherry-picked anecdotes” rather than verifiable data, a tactic that allows him to justify deep cuts without substantive proof.

Isn’t it interesting how these MAGA types always have some twisted Christian reasons that justify their lies and lack of humanity! What would Jesus do?

It’s on YOU to decide.

Faith or Politics?

Truth or Lies?

Facts or Fiction?

Cruelty or Compassion?

The Humane or Inhumane?

With or without Faith, we can can #DoBetter

If we must err, err of the side of Love.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”

In 2018 a group of Russians were able to donate to Johnson's run for his Louisiana Congressional seat with money funneled through American Ethane Company. Although fronted by John Houghtaling, the company was 88% owned by three Russian nationals associated with Vladimir Putin. Konstantin Nololaev, Michael Yuriev, and Abdrey Kunatbaev.

So MAGA Mikey is really Moscow Mikey!

Very good article

Please check out the investigation on Mike Johnson done by Documented. He has been a member of the Council for National Policy at least since 2012.

I'm waiting for the unmarked graves to be found on the Louisiana plantation of the Speaker!

A large % of his constituents are reliant on social services. I saw a piece recently that showed food banks in his district were empty and long lines to get basic services. LA has some of worst poverty and lowest education in the nation. He doesn’t even live there. How they elect this elitist is beyond me… he is everything the poor despise. Maybe voters in LA will wise up and dump him, vote for someone other than one who claims to be Christian and has an R behind their name… but probably not.

I think that the school system in his state is very poor by design. It's easier to control people who don't understand what you are saying and doing. His lies aren't ever questioned. I mean if you believe that ALL of the people in ALL of the republican town halls are paid actors then the critical thinking skills might be lacking.

He is a snake in the grass selling snake oil.

Liberaldad's avatar

I agree with this. Keeping the people dumb, sick and poor is their cruel strategy

Today, I am unable to hear God’s words, as I’m drenched in his tears.

Thanks for reminding us how evil and MAGA Mike Johnson is.

(Your use of “your” instead of “you’re” in the beginning of your essay was likely inadvertent. You may like to correct that. Sorry, it’s my proofreading habit)

Liberaldad's avatar

Whoops. I'll fix it right now.

Brilliant writing. Thank you for educating me about NAR.

As a Speech major, delivery is the key. He's cool, calm and collected. Perfect for promoting false beliefs and ideas.

His pasty face delivery of lies makes me want to throw a shoe at my TV screen.

Phullipia's avatar

“Pasty face delivery” is exactly what I have thought with him. He reminds me of those talking dolls from when I was much younger. Pre-programmed too, you know. Is there such a thing as a Stepford husband? If so, I present Mike Johnson.

Liberaldad's avatar

I don’t know your age and I wouldn't dare ask but if you're from my generation he kind of reminds me of Teddy Ruxpin without the pasty face

I go a little further back, lol. Think Chatty Cathy and Mrs. Beasley from my very youngest years.

Below is Chatty Cathy (which became truly annoying after a very short time, btw):

There's also that little "thing" he believes wholeheartedly -- that he is Moses incarnate. I can't even begin to understand how churchgoers look at this regime and see God at work.

Anna Birr's avatar

When anyone says god talks to them, run. What they are saying is anything bad they do, god told them to. Nothing is ever their fault.

MastiffSal's avatar

So true. Look how many serial killers claim "they heard god tell (them) to do it". It's the fallback of truly evil liars and nutters. And he's both!

Liberaldad's avatar

That is exactly what concerns me about this guy. He strikes me as inhuman.

Liberaldad's avatar

Yeah I didn't mention it in my article but yes. He believes he is an apostle with "spiritual gifts". As if he has the ability to communicate with God which is another lovely feature of the NAR.

Terri Seagull's avatar

That is really a cause for concern, that in his own style of narcissism he imagines himself as a reincarnation of Moses. Where does reincarnation fit into his Christian identity? All I can think that our society has a very different view of Jesus’ teachings than what is truly Biblical. This country started with the idea of a country in which people could worship as they choose. Now we have an administration that is misrepresenting God’s messages. We live in scary times, while they may also be interesting.

DEO's avatar

There are alot of people in this regime who scare me but Mike Johnson with his low-key, seemingly demure manner feels evil. He is a religious zealot who does not belong in our government.

Liberaldad's avatar

Yeah he has a very unsettling way about him.

I see you are a Navy veteran. My dad, 20 yr. Army 49th Infantry, 9th Division, WWII also Korean Conflict, Bronze and Silver Star. He chose recruiting for his peacetime career. He actively served in Germany, UK, France, Sicily, Tunisia. I grew up in a patriotic family. My dad served to help maintain our freedom of speech and religion and our Democracy which once was the envy of the world. I want the freedom to choose my religion and not to be told how I should worship or pray or even that I am required to live by a system of government that rules by “their” god. Nope, not how freedom is defined.
