Doing the Right Thing

A plea to anyone that has blood pumping through their veins

**Disclaimer: I wrote this article before the announcement that DT lost in court again. The judge has ruled that contingency money must be used to fund SNAP benefits. Either way, the Regime will attempt to drag its feet as always.

Think about the fact that we had to go to court to FEED the people of the United States. The hatred that courses through that man along with his MAGA buddies is inhumane to the extreme.

Russell Vought pulls the levers of power that determine when it's time to release funding. As OMB director, he was glad to just let billions of dollars worth of food sit in their coffers.

They show nothing but contempt for more than of forty million people. Twenty million being kids.

There is a reserve of roughly six billion dollars just sitting there waiting to be used for such a case as this.

The Republican “leadership” has refused to release these funds. The Speaker of the House even claimed that he would not agree to the release of funds because it would weaken his party's bargaining position amid the Republican government's shutdown.

We have now entered the 32nd day, and we have seen the furlough of about 900,000 federal employees. As those 900,000 employees now go without a paycheck, SNAP benefits are vital to keep households from going hungry.

So essentially, what the Republicans want to do is starve our nation into submission. But if Democrats agree to the budget measures put forth in the continuing resolution (CR), they allow for healthcare costs to double and, in some cases, triple.

Since the Republicans hold control of all three branches of the government right now, it is their call to keep it closed. This is pathetic, and quite frankly, evil.

The Speaker of the House, who openly prays on the House floor, is refusing to feed people.

He may want to brush up on his New Testament, specifically Matthew 25:35-40.

Also praying in quiet and not making it about performance, as stated in Matthew 6:5.

But what do I know? I am just some heathen, liberal, lunatic.

My Plea

If you have extra food in your cabinets, please donate. Find a local charity or a church that isn't of Mike Johnson's views. They should know where to make the best use of it.

There are many good churches out there, and I know many are accepting donations in light of the Republicans’ shutdown.

We will see scarcity in the upcoming days, and I fear for our friends and family, as well as you guys.

I know you will come through. I know that kindhearted people well outnumber people with ill intent. Let’s show up for our fellow man.

Instead of viewing this moment as a time of despair, let's prove that we can come together to support our friends, family, neighbors, and enemies alike.

Even if you don’t like someone, nobody deserves to starve. We can show the world that we are rejecting this government's disgusting abuse of power.

We can keep our people fed if we all contribute. Not to mention, these massive supermarket chains have a huge opportunity to give back to the community. They could donate massive amounts to food banks and to communities all around the United States.

It would put their corporation in the driver’s seat as the place to go. When the evil of all of this subsides, people will remember what businesses stepped up to the plate. I am looking at you, Walmart, Target, Wegmans, Tops, and other major supermarket chains.

We have to take a stand for humanity and do the right thing. If you cannot afford to buy extra groceries, I get it. Food prices are soaring.

Encouragement is needed during this time. Let’s flip the script and not allow ourselves to fall into low morale; instead, let's turn it into something beautiful.

Prop each other up. Show one another that you will do what you can. Even if that means taking a smaller share of your dinner. Goodness knows I could afford to lose some weight.

So please, if you can, donate, donate, donate. We need each other. This is our chance to show what the people in this country can do.
