I know how you feel, Vicki! I will be 70 in August, (I don’t rush birthdays so I’m still 69.) I am also disabled with anxiety and depression as results from my past. It’s tough being a senior on Social Security as the only income! My mother just turned 90, and she has dementia and that’s rough also. Yesterday she asked me what my name was.😢 We are a five generation household, and still struggling to put food on the table. I keep a vision of how the United States is supposed to be as the framers designed it to be. I admit, I add a few of my own thoughts on how it should look: universal basic income, single payer healthcare, dismantle government subsidies for private schools, reinstate the voting act, fully fund; department of education, cdc, fda, social security, reparations for indigenous peoples and black people etc. enact term limits for Congress and SCOTUS, a robust system for getting rid of bad actors, get rid of Citizen's United. Reduce funding for the military industrial complex, defund private prisons, FULLY TAX the rich and wealthy corporations, erase trickle down economics from our brain, actually rehabilitate most criminals and apply evidence based best practices in substance abuse, homelessness, and poverty just for starters
