There are a couple of independent journalists who have tracked these nefarious actors for over a decade: St Louis writer / analyst Sarah Kendzior (author, "Flyover Country" and substack contributor) and now-expat writer Whitney Webb ( whose books require an entire legal notepad at hand to track the dark money linkages she finds). They've both noted and substantiated Ghislaine Maxwell's father's links to western intel agencies 'work' with mafia elements, and his unusual 'ending', falling off his yacht and drowning, and subsequent burial in Israel with high government honors for his 'services' to the cause of moneyed, rightist entities there.
Those women who spoke in DC have threatened that whole skeevy brotherhood of money, corruption, women as consumables and more money as impunity. Good for them.

I stand with these courageous Women who stood up publicly against those notable powerful and wealthy abusers who would rather save their own sick hides by deceit than take responsibility for their actions, for dooming these Women to a lifetime of torment.
They deserve to be heard loud and clear, without being further victimized by their abusers, trump and his administration, the GOP and the public.
I was actually surprised to see my local evening news reporting about the conference. I watched the entire thing on YouTube, of course (it wasn't on network), and was moved to tears more than once. The jet flyovers and the current president holding a simultaneous news conference where he claimed the whole thing was a hoax, was beyond heinous. Later, when he suggested that the one GOP male who signed onto it was an "insurgent," and should be "taken out," shows a new low for him when we thought he couldn't go any lower.
I composed an email to my congressman while I watched, encouraging him to get on the "right side of history," but I know he won't. He's a sycophant afraid of losing his tenuous grip on power. My current plan is to remind him and my senators weekly that although their names will most assuredly be associated with America's descent into fascism and encouraging a wannabe dictator to run roughshod over our experiment in democracy, there is an option; wouldn't they rather be remembered as one of the folks who took a stand against it?
