What a Year It Has Been
Last night, my daughter looked over at me and said, “I’m glad 2025 is almost over.” My response "me too but..."
This has been a year of absolute turmoil. We have seen some of the most depraved, malicious behavior that a government could ever subject its constituents to.
We have also seen a massive shift in political ideology. Polls across the country are all swinging to the left. Republican retirements are being mentioned throughout the caucus.
We all know that MTG got out early. She may be one of the dumbest people out there when it comes to book smarts. However, she is resigning from Congress in such a way that tells me she knows that the shit is about to hit the fan. She knows there is about to be a major split, and she is just the first rat to flee the sinking ship.
We are seeing multiple congresspeople from the Republican Party indicating that they are not getting what they asked for from the pretend authoritarian in the Oval Office. They are seeing all the unhinged behavior from the fragile, Sundowning old man.
Seeing him getting all offended by reporters (all women by the way) for asking questions that a normal president would be expected to answer. But we are not dealing with a normal (cringe) president. Instead of answering reporters who are doing their job, he prefers to call one “piggy” and another on Thanksgiving “a very stupid person.” Not to mention all the times he has called multiple women “nasty,” among other things, I am sure.
Could you imagine Joe Biden calling a reporter any of those names? Talk about resorting to 7th-grade insults. The man is so thin-skinned, it’s transparent. Maybe that’s what they mean when they say DT is the most transparent president ever. Thanks, KKKaroline Leavitt, it all makes sense now.
Somewhere in that addled mind of his, a couple of neurons must be arcing and making the connection that things are starting to fall apart. It was never going to be sustainable. DT never had the “big D” energy or the constitution (not the document) to maintain the illusion of a strongman. As we all know, he is a weak, fragile little boy who couldn’t find his way out of a wet paper bag.
Instead of showing a hint of remorse last night, on his failing social media app, he ranted on and on about how evil all the immigrants are. He went on a tirade about how immigrants take advantage of our welfare system, and I can say this with confidence as an individual who works in Social Services. Immigrants barely get anything. The surrounding charities provide more than the government.
He then goes on to claim that Somali gangs are roving the streets of Minnesota, then making that the excuse to pick on Tim Walz, calling him a “retard.” In all seriousness, I don’t think DT is long for this world. Every time I see him, he looks worse and more befuddled.
But Erik, you might say, “What about JD Vance? He might be worse.”
I’ll believe it when I see it. He is a pretender. He has the charisma of a jellyfish. He has money behind him from Peter Thiel, but I don’t think Vance has the instincts to handle the job. He is not likable in any way, plus he likes to do dirty things with sectionals. The Ottomans might be too attractive. He won’t be able to focus. I mean, have you seen all the furniture in the White House?
All of his responses were prepared in advance for him when he did big interviews. When speaking off the cuff, he has no skills. I highly recommend watching his visit to the donut shop last year, while trying to schmooze with the “common folk.” Can you say awkward? I honestly don’t think we will see him after this term. There still has to be a vote, and from what I have seen, there will not be enough support for any of the Republicans if they continue on the path that they are on.
2025 has certainly been a year for the books. Having said that, I have seen and done things this year that I never would have thought possible. That includes this newsletter. If you were to tell me before the election that I would write over two hundred articles over the course of 2025, I would say you need your head examined.
I flew to Washington, DC, and protested with the veterans of this country. We protested together as I livestreamed from my phone, along with millions of others, all across the globe.
I met new friends right here on this app. I feel so fortunate to have met you all. Your encouragement has been the fuel that has kept me going through all of this. Together we will turn this tide. I think if we continue to fight, it will be only a matter of time before that dam finally breaks.
I know there are still hard days on the way, but I see just a little bit of sun peaking over that horizon. I am so excited for that day when we can finally all celebrate the final rejection of these fascists.
Thanks for being with me on this journey, even after all the typos. I truly appreciate all of you so much. Thank you.
Love you guys.
Erik

Well-written, Brother.
Yes, KKKarolying Leavitt, it actually does make sense, now... that a-hole... sorry for the typo... whole "transparent" thing...
"Beware the law of unintended consequences" definitely applies to the election of DJT to a so-called "second term". After all the deliberate "divided and conquer" politics of the "Republican" party had the nation separated into "red" versus "blue" with MAGA leading the "red", we have had more movement towards a reunification in the last 10 months than we would ever have thought possible, as each outrageous move by the Mango Mussolini out does the previous ones. Just as housework is only noticed when it isn't done, government by the Civil Service is now being recognized by it's loss. The founding documents of the nation and the concepts therein had been under a pile of dust for quite a while, and now are being dusted off and actually reconsidered. And formerly uninterested Gen Z is now getting seriously involved in fighting back. Yes, these are definitely uncertain times, as well as a lot of hardship for a lot of people. But if the trend continues, we just might see a resurrection of the nation's original promise.
