To the Veterans
This is one of the worst things the Trump administration has done yet
I am not a veteran but I have a certain amount of pride for my country. I had a grandfather that served during World War 2. I also have inlaws that have since passed that served during World War 2 and in Korea.
I interviewed my grandfather about 30 years ago but unfortunately I can't find the recording, but I do remember a few things.
One thing I recall is the time that he spent in the army, while he was stationed overseas during WWII was that he could remember the approaching boom of rockets. They continued to come closer and closer to his outpost. He was lucky and was never involved in battle but he was part of the medical team.
He teared up when he told me about the low rumble of the booms in the distance. It made me put myself in his shoes. The approach of what can be described as almost certain death. It stuck with him into his 80s.
During those uncertain hours I am sure these men that were serving didn't care whether the person next to them was white, black, male, female, gay or straight. The person that was on your side was absolutely another human who is looking out for you as you would have looked out for them.
The reason for this whole story is that in the above picture they are taking away the respect, honor and strength of the people that served in the military including the ones that received the medal of honor just because of skin color or gender or sexuality. I mean how disgusting can you be?
To take this away is a low blow for anyone that has a brain that properly works. Our commander in chief didn't serve a minute in the armed forces and had his rich daddy pay a doctor to say that he had bone spurs on FIVE different occasions.
The commander in chief is a coward and doesn't have the guts to be a leader let alone the leader of this nation. He makes a mockery of the position along with all the losers in his cabinet. He has been given a lot of money but he sure hasn't earned it. He is The President but he sure as hell didn't earn the position. He deserves nothing that has been granted to the office of POTUS.
Veterans that aren't on the side of this fascist regime, thank you for your service. People who are not white, christian and male I offer you my deepest sympathy. You do not the deserve the disrespect that you have been shown. You have kept our nation safe for the last, almost 250 years white or black or otherwise.
Thank you for all you have done. You are heroes and I will not ever forget what you have done for our country. You are just as important as your white, male counter-parts. Thank you all. If there is anything that I can do, please reach out. I will offer what little I have to help.
Love you all,
Erik

It's is infuriating how dare his draft dodging ass try to erase these heros from history
