Tariff Stupidity

I don't agree with most of what Rand Paul says. But for once, he speaks in unison with the Democrats.
Yesterday the Senate rejected Donald Trump's executive order that he wanted to put a 25% tariffs on Canadian imports. This is a universally stupid idea and the Republicans are finally starting to stop cowering before Mr. Trump. They are actually showing some spine. The vote was 52-48 to reject the bill but at least it's a start. Four Republicans voted no, Rand Paul, Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins.
This is the second day in a row where the Trump regime was rejected. Susan Crawford was elected to the Wisconsin Supreme Court, a liberal judge who ran against Brad Schimel who was backed by Trump and Elon Musk who spend millions to try and buy votes in order to win.
Lucky for us the people of Wisconsin showed that their vote could not be purchased. The people of Wisconsin voted for Crawford with a resounding rejection of the Trump/Musk candidate by 10 points.
There is finally a crack in the Republicans full throated backing of anything Trump does.
His iron grip is starting to loosen and with the judiciary constantly placing stays on his bigoted and stupid executive orders, and now sign of life from the legislature, we could start to see the crumbling of this constant assault on our Democratic and constitutional rights.
He is a bully and he will continue to push until you pushback and as we start to show some backbone we will see more of what happened in the Senate last night.
