History Doesn't Repeat But it Does Rhyme
We can certainly draw lessons from the past.
Here is a short excerpt from “The Grapes of Wrath” written by John Steinbeck back in 1939…
"There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our successes. The fertle Earth, the straight tree rows, the sturdy trunks, and the ripe fruit. And the children dying of (hunger) must die because a profit cannot be taken from an orange. And coroners must fill in the certificates - died of malnutrition - because the food must rot (if not sold at a profit).
...and in the eyes of the hungry there is a growing wrath. In the souls of the people the grapes of wrath are filling and growing heavy, growing heavy for the vintage."
This profound passage so resembles what is happening today as if it were divined. In reality it is commentary of what was happening to immigrants during this time.
People are working for peanuts while the billionaires rake in money by the truckload. They earn more money in an hour that I make in a year.
And now these oligarchs are trying to seal this robbery of the American people by turning this country into a slave state. This is happening at lightning speed.
If you have been living on planet earth for the last 3 months or so. Major changes to this country are happening.
Just yesterday the president signed a bill to militarize most of the US southern border. This will then be cause for sealing off any access to Mexico thus further isolating our country. This will also cause the southern border to become the “Tent City” that Trump discussed on his videos about his platform before election.
This will essentially be the holding tank for the mass deportation of the immigrant population and for anyone the president doesn't like. This will be essentially the US version of a concentration camp.
In the last 2 weeks the president has essentially tanked the stock market. He announced tariffs under the guise that they would benefit the US Consumer when in reality we are going to pay astronomical prices for everyday goods.
This wasn't some hair brained idea. This was done on purpose. He is hurting the US Consumer in order to force the population into desperation. If you think he actually thought this was going to benefit us, you are sadly mistaken. This has been his plan from the start.
The meager income we have now will essentially be for the very bare essentials. This will ensure we stay alive to serve his means but not get strong enough oppose the regime.
He has turned our allies into enemies and completely destabilized the market and turned us into a worldwide pariah, almost like Russia.
These are moves right from a 2025 fascist playbook. You might want to refer to it as Project 2025 that I happened to read all 900 ish pages of.
I've been shouting about this for months prior to the election. Trump has been following it since day one.
People were telling me I'm being alarmist. That I’m taking things too seriously. For anyone who agrees with me and for those that disagree with me as well, I hate that he is doing this. And I wish I was wrong about this nightmare that we are currently experiencing.
The only way that we are going to put a stop to this increasingly dire situation is to continue to gather peacefully. We have to normalize the protests and continue to pressure our legislature to make fight back these unconstitutional directives.
The only reason he is doing this is for his boss Putin and his unconscionable desire for power. He will continue to do this no matter who he has to step on,push over, threaten, deceive or any other of the mountain of dirty things he has already done.
Please, please, please contact your local and state officials make your voice heard. RESIST!

Well written. My thought is that this chaos is being played out per a predetermined SCRIPT.
This is largely fulfilling Putid's plans. A 45th & 47th president has not existed. My mind remains infected since July 2015.
This is one of your most beautiful and thoughtful posts. It maintains that beauty while delivering dire news, which is always a challenge. I agree one hundred percent with what you're saying. Millions of people have been duped into thinking that the oligarchy is looking out for them and that their lives will ultimately get better because of electing these people. While it may appear to be random, every move is intentional, and that's the scariest part. I am horrified every day by what's happening to our country. I continue to resist, as well. I still believe there are enough good people out there to make the changes we need.
