Bruce is Not Happy
This is the pushback we need.
Bruce Springsteen, rock and roll icon for the last fifty years has had enough. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been one of the most celebrated musical acts in history selling over 150 million albums.
He was performing in Manchester to kick off his “Land of Hopes and Dreams” tour. He had this to say and these are indeed the words of a true patriot:
“It’s great to be in Manchester and back in the UK. Welcome to the Land of Hope and Dreams Tour! The mighty E Street Band is here tonight to call upon the righteous power of art, of music, of rock ‘n roll in dangerous times.”
He continued: “In my home, the America I love, the America I’ve written about, that has been a beacon of hope and liberty for 250 years is currently in the hands of a corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous administration. Tonight, we ask all who believe in democracy and the best of our American experiment to rise with us, raise your voices against authoritarianism and let freedom ring!”
He had more to say but I think you get this idea. He said these words in front of the whole world. I am also sure that he knew it would reach our shores and ultimately to our inept leader.
Of course our thin skinned president had to respond to this:
The man cannot stand to be insulted. At 78 years old he still has a victim complex. He will obviously have it until the day he dies.
Think about this just in terms of maturity. The President of the United States of America has had to resort to name calling and veiled threats. How freaking pathetic. My 12 year old daughter has a thicker skin.
The president claims to admire tough guys from the past. If that’s the case he sure doesn’t emulate his heroes because when he stands in front of his fellow dicatators he bows down like someone who is afraid that someone might make a design with seashells that says 8647. Seems a bit weak to me.
Bruce Springsteen brought the grit and toughness that most of the US population really represents. Springsteen is calling on all of us to stand up and resist this fascist regime.
Orange Man's people are trying to scare us in to submission. I think that if he turns up the pressure, we have to push back that much harder. It is going to take sustained courage, meaning there is still a long way to go. We are going to have to get uncomfortable and maybe step up in these dire times. I think that’s why Bruce had thise comments.
Those comment were not just to rev up the crowd in Manchester. I think he was speaking directly to us.
What do you guys think?
Love you all,
Erik

Absolutely agree that Bruce was speaking to US! The resistance is growing and needs to continue to do so. The hearings of Noem and Kennedy this past week speaks to the urgency.
"8647? 8647?!?! Oh no, anything but that!"
