2:39am Thoughts

As I sit here at a seriously not recommended time. I can honestly not sleep. I am very anxious about the upcoming election today. I have promised family members I would not get on social media until after election day because I know as my family members do, that it is not good for my mental health or for anyone else.

This is my final plea to you to please vote for Harris. This is not a joke. I have done the reading, I have done the research. I read the entirety of the 922 page document (Mandate for Leadership) that the Heritage Foundation wants to enact as part of their christo-facist agenda. This lines up with Agenda 47 which is Donald Trump's website that explains his platform.

I know people will and have disagreed with me over these last four years. I know that there is nothing more to say to people who have dug in and believe that their vote will be for Trump no matter what. This final plea is to the people who are still undecided and maybe think they shouldn't vote. It matters even if you are in a solid blue or red district. There are down ballot races that need to be voted on. The government will not be able to fix our problems if the house and senate are deadlocked. You need to vote for those people who represent your values.

The Trump administration wants to further mix politics and religion. This is counter to what the constitution says. A separation of church and state is healthy for our country. We are here so we can be free to practice whatever religion we want as long as it doesn't harm others. Despite what some people say, the government was not formed based on Christian values, not to mention some of the things God commands in the Bible are downright horrific.

Those of you who feel that the Biden administration didn't do enough to address climate change and want to vote for Jill Stein are mistaken. The only thing voting for her would do is improve the chances of Trump winning. And Trump is on record as saying that climate change is a hoax. He also said if the oceans rise that it would mean more beachfront property. He is unserious and does not care. I understand the desire to vote 3rd party as I did in 2016 when I voted for Bernie Sanders. Unfortunately all the people that voted for him basically hurt the count for anyone that didn't want Trump in office.

I am anxious and I am so concerned about this election. I feel like there may be violence regardless of who wins. I hope I am wrong.

One last thing before I go and make a feeble attempt to fall back to sleep. If you have daughter as I do remember that their grandparents, specifically grandmother's had more rights in this country than your kids do now. They will continue to lose rights if Trump wins the election.

Remember love wins always. Love your neighbors whether they have Donald Trump signs all over their yard or not. Be kind to immigrants as they are not your enemy, they are human beings who want a better shot at life by coming to this country illegally or not. Love the people who you don't know and the ones that you do even if they disagree with you on politics. We the people need to stand up and be counted and understand our rights not just for ourselves but those around us regardless of race, religion, gender, disability or otherwise. If we stand together we will win.
